Mr. Steven Zoernack’s clients have invested in some of the best performing investment vehicles of the last three decades. A former trader at investment banking firm Bear Stearns and also at Refco (the world’s largest commodities firm at that time), Mr. Zoernack has been well known in the Investment Industry since 1982. Mr. Zoernack started learning about the markets from a young age when he started working at a major Gold Brokerage. His first account ever was a large Platinum investor and his love for trading began. Steve majored in Electrical Engineering at Boston University and played Attack on the school’s club Lacrosse team. Early in his professional career, he was involved with large grain negotiations (for third world human consumption) at the Continental Grain Company’s Conti-Commodity division at 4 World Trade Center in New York, which was later bought by Refco.
Mr. Zoernack helped pioneer the creation of the first ever Derivatives on Crude Oil, Heating Oil and Gasoline while at Bear Stearns. In addition Mr. Zoernack was also one of the few Portfolio Managers who predicted that Oil Prices would reach or exceed $100 a barrel in 2008. In the 90’s and as an investment banker in the Commercial Real Estate Group at Sun Credit, he originated large CMBS transactions earmarked for securitization in healthcare facilities, offices, multifamily housing, retail malls, and warehouse buildings that others said couldn’t be done. Steve was lead advisor for a Real Estate Investment Trust on the $350 million financing of an attempted buyout for the world famous Las Vegas Desert Inn.
Mr. Zoernack is currently working with African Governments on a goodwill fund that will manage assets and give profits back to the economies of African Nations, where needed most. He also continues his extensive volunteer work that in the past has included teaching religion to 3-7 year old children, serving as elected Commissioner of Little League Baseball, and serving as a Judge for Special Olympics competitions for the handicapped.
