About Us

Founded by Steven Zoernack, a seasoned stock index professional formerly with Bear Stearns in their New York headquarters office, IndexBoss is dedicated to simplifying stock index investing through advanced methodologies. Steven has accurately predicting several large market moves, including the stock market crash of 1986, where he successfully exited positions before the crash and re-entered at significantly lower prices.

Our approach integrates cutting-edge quantitative analysis techniques, leveraging sophisticated algorithms and data analytics to identify patterns, trends, and optimal investment opportunities. Steven Zoernack attended Boston University’s School of Engineering and played attack position on the school’s lacrosse team. With expertise in financial markets, valuation, lending, and fund management, Steven leads our team with a commitment to excellence and innovation.

Our team includes a former Commissioner of Sarasota County Little League and a former coach who led a Special Olympics softball team to a gold medal in Florida. These experiences reflect our dedication to community engagement, youth development, and inclusivity.

We are also committed to environmental stewardship. We plan to prioritize Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors in our investment approach. Additionally, using some of the firm’s profits, we intend to acquire and convert undervalued and dying large citrus properties into profitable bamboo plantations through our subsidiary, BambooBoss. This initiative aims to contribute to reforestation efforts and promote sustainable land use practices. The bamboo harvested from these plantations will be sold to green, eco-friendly home builders, promoting sustainable construction materials and reducing carbon footprints. Visit our subsidiary at bamboo-boss.com for more information.

Our governance practices are founded on ethical standards and transparency, ensuring accountability to our stakeholders. By integrating ESG considerations into our investment strategy, we aim not only to generate competitive financial returns but also to make a positive impact on society and the environment.

Portfolio Manager Bio: Steven Zoernack

Steven Zoernack is an American entrepreneur, asset manager, international business consultant, and technical stock index trader. He is the founder and Managing Director of IndexBoss, specializing in simplifying asset management by using stock indexes to predict and profit from both up and down markets. Additionally, Steven is the founder and CEO of ReputationBoss, a business consulting and public relations firm serving some of the most notable and high net worth clients in the world. Steven is also the founder and CEO of BambooBoss, a pioneering firm that will be using profits to help transform the agricultural landscape of Florida into a greener, more sustainable, and profitable one by acquiring large tracts of underperforming, dying, and undervalued citrus groves at steep discounts and converting them into long-term sustainable commercial bamboo plantations.

Steven Zoernack’s career began with a curiosity for trading during his college years, which led to a deep interest in technical analysis and trading commodities. Once employed by a major commodities broker on Wall Street, Steve was taken under the wing of a secretive and very successful Greek trader, Mr. Kyriakou. Working under the mentorship of Mr. Kyriakou, Zoernack learned successful technical analysis early on and gained recognition with one of his first trades in the Coffee futures market. Within a year, at age 23, Zoernack became the brokerage firm’s nationwide “Rookie of the Year” and the NY branch’s top 3 brokers out of 50.  Zoernack then joined one of the top 5 investment banking firms of the time, Bear Stearns & Co. in 1984. He successfully applied his newly acquired Quant trading strategies to stock index arbitrage during the 80s and 90s. Steven accurately predicted several significant market moves, including navigating the stock market crash of 1986 by strategically exiting and re-entering positions at lower prices, showcasing his expertise in financial markets and risk management.

Throughout his career, Steven has held roles as an asset manager, hedge fund manager, and stock index specialist in New York and Newport Beach, CA. He established several international investment funds and a Wall Street commercial real estate finance firm specializing in selling and securitizing commercial CMBS loans of $5 million and up.

On his Life Quest Steve ends up in a minor battle with the government. In early 2013, the Securities and Exchange Commission felt that in one of the family of hedge funds Steve founded, called EquityStar Global Partners, the outside and independent accounting firm and Fund Administrator wasn’t properly expensing salaries in one of the 4 investment funds, treating them as a “due from affiliate” rather than the more appropriate “expense”. Salaries were an allowable fund expense and described in the fund prospectus but weren’t being accounted for properly by the fund’s outside vendors. Steve and his attorneys disclosed to investors, began a reimbursement, replaced the accountants and administrator, and quickly settled with the SEC. Steve looks at it as a learning experience that’s now in the past. He also feels he‘s now more focused, stronger, disciplined, and knows what really matters in life.

Beyond finance, Steven is dedicated to environmental sustainability through his leadership at BambooBoss.

He was first married in 1996 and is the proud father of three children—two sons and a daughter. Steven enjoys a variety of hobbies including golf, tennis, travel, athletic coaching, deep-sea fishing, sailing, scuba diving, chess, high-end audio/video, yoga, and gardening.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Steven Zoernack is an active philanthropist and sports enthusiast. He coached a Special Olympics softball team to a gold medal in Florida and remains dedicated to community sports and educational programs. He has also taught religion to 3-7-year-olds and sponsored and chaperoned the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Buddies Program for underprivileged kids.

Steven values simplicity and personal growth, continually applying life lessons to enhance both his professional and personal pursuits. His transformative journey has strengthened his commitment to helping others and has positioned him as a respected figure in the international business community.
